BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY (TISSUE PAPER) [From: Artmaking]
Written by: Erica [Erica is from Minnesota]

Age:

2-5 years

Activity Summary:

Preschoolers will make a butterfly using contact paper and tissue paper.

What You Need:

•clear contact paper (sticky)
•tissue paper (many colors)
•pipe cleaners
•child safety scissors
•black permanent marker

What You Do:

  1. Draw 2 outlines of the same size butterfly with black permanent marker on contact paper, keeping the middle section of the butterfly narrow.

  2. Depending on child's age, have them cut out both of the outlines.

  3. Child can then tear small pieces of different colored tissue paper, and place on to sticky sides.

  4. Press the 2 pieces together.

  5. Help child wrap a pipe cleaner around the middle section, leaving both ends of pipe cleaner up for the antennae.

  6. Hang from ceiling or stick on window.
