LEAF PRINTS [From: Science/Nature]
Written by: greealis [greealis is a teacher in the Barbados]

Age:

2-5 years

Activity Summary:

Children will learn about design in nature as they make crayon rubbings or painted prints from leaves.

What You Need:

•Paper
•Different types of leaves
•Paint and/or crayons

What You Do:

  1. Go for a walk outside to collect some leaves.

  2. Lay a piece of paper flat on the table and then put the leaf under the paper.

  3. After you've done that, use the crayon to draw on the paper, over the leaf. The leaf design will magically appear on the paper.

  4. Another idea is to use paint -- paint the leave and make a print of it on the paper.
